Our Story

For the better part of a decade, David Vaughn and Jeff Miller contracted with various brokers as field landmen, but found that the emphasis on ethical business practices was not present. They saw the need for a brokerage with integrity that put their clients first, and began to envision ways in which such a firm could be established. From the inception of Texhoma Land Consultants in October 1991, the founding principles have remained: client satisfaction is the top priority, and is obtained by recruiting the best landmen (both in-house and contract), treating and paying them well, and building a crew of talented professionals that remain with the organization. With a consistent crew of experienced and devoted individuals backing our clients, Texhoma Land Consultants flourished.

Texhoma is a reputable Land Management brokerage that partners with energy producers across the United States to provide quality land work backed by our passion and expertise in the industry. We are passionate about oil and gas and have a reputation for building long-term relationships with our clients by providing an innovative and efficient work product while remaining committed to our ethical and sustainable practices. Each business plan is tailored to individual clients and their unique needs, and no project is too large or too small. Whether your company requires a brokerage for a short project or one that will be ongoing for years, let Texhoma Land Consultants earn your business with our dedication to making you succeed.

Client Testimonials

“I have engaged with Texhoma Land Consultants several times over the course of the last decade to provide landman services. Primarily this has occurred in multiple Oklahoma projects, Appalachian projects and Colorado Piceance Basin projects. I keep going back to them because they always get it right on target, on time and on budget. They have always been able to dynamically change as our project needs are adjusted.

They have integrity and tight process control with a wealth of expertise and experience in the land business. They’ve always had sufficient resources available to scale up to any deal requirements I’ve presented. In addition to designing and facilitating leasing & title programs, support for our lease records department and operational back office procedures to manage an ever changing rig line, the executive core of the organization, which has been my main interface, has been instrumental in facilitating dozens of due diligence projects consisting of billions of dollars in transaction value.”

“In my 40 years of land work as a company landman in the oil and gas industry, the most complicated area was the Appalachian Basin. Succeeding in the basin required exceptional skills in all aspects of land work. Texhoma Land Consultants provided unparalleled skills in management, organization, field broker supervision, and mapping that contributed to the acquisition of hundreds of thousands of lease acres and the drilling of over 1,000 horizontal wells.

The Appalachian Basin also has some of the most complicated title in any basin in the United States. Over the last 13 years in the Marcellus and Utica, I worked directly and indirectly on over 700 transactions ranging from as little as $10,000 to as much as $450 million. Throughout the efforts, Texhoma Land Consultants provided me with the highest level of management, organization and results.”
